Biostatistician / Bioinformatician (f/m/d) - Proteomics

Full-time, permanent, Munich

 

NEOsphere Biotechnologies has a highly sophisticated data analysis platform on high performance computing servers to identify novel, therapeutic targets. It utilizes a tailor-made framework of interactive R/Shiny apps to control and schedule individual computational processes and to analyze results and review the outcome.

We are looking for a highly motivated, scientifically minded candidate who enjoys creative problem solving to join our biostatistics/bioinformatics team.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • In an open exchange with the entire team, you will perform statistical analyses of high-throughput proteomics data to drive knowledge gain for us and for our partners
  • You will be able to apply and expand our integrated target discovery engine to support discovery of the next generation of drugs
  • You will develop new tools to address new challenges
  • Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you will tackle scientific questions at the forefront of drug discovery
  • You will be involved in communicating complex biostatistics / bioinformatics concepts and results to your colleagues from diverse backgrounds as well as to our partners

Your ideal qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD degree in computational biology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Strong Programming skills in scripted languages, particularly R or similar.
  • Experience with the R/Shiny framework and high-performance compute server usage.
  • Working experience in industry or biological context, and the ability to analyze proteomics and/or transcriptomics data.
  • Experience in the use of classical statistical inference methods and modern concepts, such as Bayesian statistics and machine learning is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the initiative to actively communicate with data producers and data users in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Professional language skills in English – both written and spoken.
